SBMOC Bulldog Run 2011
A classic motorcycle charity run in aid of The Camelia Botnar Children's Centre near Worthing in West Sussex. Starting point was Destination Triumph at Washington, West Sussex, finishing at the clubhouse, Climping Village Hall, with an excellent snack van waiting for us at both ends.
And boy, did it rain! It hammered down for the duration of the run, which cut down on the number of riders finishing the event, but enough hardy souls made it through to make it all worthwhile.
Concourse awards as follows:
Class A: D. Murray, Rudge Sport Special 500cc
Class B: P. Nye, AJS 500cc
Class C: T. Mitchell, Triumph T120 650cc
Class D: P. Richardson, BSA Rocket Three, 750cc
Class E: R. Spencer, Royal Enfield Bullett 500cc
A special award, the Mike Peters Shield was presented to D. Murray. It was for the oldest motorcycle and rider to finish the run. The shield is in memory of Mike Peters who organised The Engineerium Run for the Rotary Club of Hove for many years. The award was presented by Trish Peters, Mike's widow.
Thanks to all concerned for good run, we look forward to next year's event, fingers crossed for the sunshine!
